Binster
POSTED BY Sam ON June 24th IN On The Radar, Tracks.
It’s true that this isn’t our usual cup of tea, but I have to say, this is remarkable, I love this! The artist contacted me via email with a whole album up for download, so I thought I’d give it a go seeing as I listen to everyones music who contacts me, and downloaded the album, stuck on my headphones and before I put it on, I stuck it up to full volume, and really, this is some sick stuff, only thing I can compare it with from my usual tastes is small parts of the sound being something like from Institubes. Really, you should all download this, to give it a try at least! I’m not saying the whole album is my style but there are a selection of tracks that are quite amazing. I don’t know anything about this guy but I had to post his tracks, I’m a fan!

New bangers
POSTED BY Sam ON June 23rd IN Essentials, Tracks. No, not Ed Banger.
Thought I’d present to you all the new tracks currently on the market, I haven’t yet decided my verdict but please do comment with yours. I’m off to Glastonbury Festival on Wednesday, so hopefully in that space of time Jade will have a post for you, and a few days after Glastonbury I’m going to Main Square Festival in France, so I’ll be out then too, shortly after Main Square I have Justice in London and finally the day after Justice, I’m DJing at a house party.
So what do we have for you, we have new chemicals, new pilous and new proxy. Can’t get a better combination than British, French and Russian sounds.

A new’en from Homework
POSTED BY Sam ON June 15th IN On The Radar, Tracks.
We can’t get enough of Homework (yes, that is a reference of you know what), I personally love their sound and they image, not only their own tracks but their remixes are amazing also! Homework are an electro DJ/production duo from Holland called HOMEWORK, and after doing a bunch of remixes for (mostly) Dutch bands and a couple of bootlegs, we have finally arrived at a homemade production entitled “Whiskers“. I don’t know why but I can’t help but think of Soulwax when I think of Homework, it is of course one of their inspirations and I’m presuming aspirations too.

DLAKE = PARTY MUSIC
POSTED BY Jade ON June 15th IN News, On The Radar, One More Disco.
It’s hard to ignore greatness these days, especially when it is forced upon you.
DLake was first introduced to me by FrankMusik, when he was telling me about how the newest Mixtape “BMore Of A Hipster” had changed his views on life. A few songs were played and already I knew I was in love. The first track on the Mixtape “Dance All Night” is ridiculously catchy and will stick in your head for days; with a sound that will make you imagine driving through downtown LA in a big american car, looking cooler than you would have ever looked before.
I began speaking to Mr Lake via Myspace, and I have recently sent him a list of questions for a short interview. As said in the interview, it’s hard to tag this music with any genre, but incase you are not willing to download something without a clue, I’d tag it generally as Baltimore, Electronic and Hip-Hop, sometihng for everyone, and it definately works. Daren has recorded an interview with the assistant of his girlfriend reading the questions, Below I have put a link to the interview .zip file, which also features DLake first ever made song, and alos his latest remix of Royksopp. Also is a link to downlad the BMore Of A Hipster mixtape, which is basically a must in anyones music collection.
PLEASE BE WARNED this interview does include some explicit language.

Please go and show some love to Daren on Myspace, he is amazing! There is not another word to describe him and his music!

Motor [Rawfare Remix]
POSTED BY Sam ON June 8th IN Essentials, On The Radar, Tracks.
“Rawfare is the brainchild of Attila “the Punk”, hailing from 2006’s Bratislava, the city of precious cyber post-communist dirt. After dwelving deeply into drum&bass and breakbeat productions some years ago, he decided to ditch the pigeonhole game and turned into crafting his own vision of hard, energetic punk beats with a signature twist. The results are surfacing right about now - live.” - W-KI

New Daft Punk Album
POSTED BY Sam ON May 29th IN News.
Daft Punk’s first studio album; Homework
Pedestrian.tv today announced that Daft Punk have started work on their new album, which will be their 4th studio album (if you exclude their 2 alive live albums). In my opinion, I don’t know why, but I feel as though Daft Punk will bring something new to the table but still maintain a Homework sound, each studio album has been different, Homework being, well, Homework (it’s a genre in itself hehe), Discovery being quite disco and Human After All having that rock-edge to it, so who knows what their upcoming album will be.
“The boys are in a studio in Paris at the moment and I can’t wait to listen to their new stuff!” Pedro Winter (Busy P, Daft Punk Manager and owner of Ed Banger Records) told In The Mix.
Does this mean we can expect a tour eventually, it won’t be for a long time, but it’s something to look forward to, hehe. Another bit of news is that manager; Pedro Winter, is not working with Daft Punk on this album, he has announced he is going to concentrate more on his label, Ed Banger Records (which we all know and love). Fair play to Pedro, he has lots of work I can imagine with Ed Banger.
“I’ve stopped working with them really recently, because I want to focus and concentrate on Ed Banger and my artists, and my own career as Busy P.”
Winter has been working with Daft Punk for 12 years so, as In The Mix rightfully put, “it’s a safe bet that the relationship will continue to be a tight one.”
So to somewhat celebrate, here’s a classic by Daft Punk which I think I might go as far to say as it being my favorite Daft Punk track.

Sparks and the competition
POSTED BY Sam ON May 27th IN Essentials, Live, News.
Need I describe Sparks? The brothers Ron and Russel Mael are on tour again, playing 20 dates at the same venue, each date features them playing 1 of their 20 albums, there is another date (a 21st) which is them playing their upcoming 21st album. Most legendary artists come back for a revival, but not like this. You can check Spark’s discography by clicking here. We have an excellent track from them below, and here is a link to buy tickets for their huge tour based in London.
