Mr Flash Remixes Kanye West

POSTED BY Sam ON March 6th IN Tracks.

Got an email through from Ed Banger Rec showing off their latest remix of Kanye West’s ‘Paranoid’ by their very own Mr Flash. I definitely hear a lot of Kavinsky influence in this, it’s quite an interesting remix (despite my disliking of Kanye West).

Just another bit of news, Justice are remixing U2, this is either a REALLY stupid decision (I hate U2) or a decision that is going to form a banger, let’s just hope this is going to be another Lovelight-style-remix (Robbie Williams - Lovelight (Soulwax Remix)

Here’s the Flash remix:

Anto - Fantasy

POSTED BY Sam ON March 2nd IN On The Radar, Tracks.

Mini bio from his MySpace:
Anto was born in 1984 in Stockholm Sweden by greek parents. Since then music was a big part of Anto’s life.. He grew up in a family where his father allways had a passion for dancemusic (everything from Abba to Tiesto)

In the late 90s Anto started to produce his own music. After trying a lot of electronic styles, he focused on the electronica/electro/house scene.

In summer 2007 Anto’s track “Wonderful Strings” was played by superstar-dj Pete Tong on his fasttrax show, after that lots of other big and small djs started to support Anto’s music and labels started to ask for remixes and productions.. One of them Daz Sampson (from “Uniting Nations” and also representing UK in eurovison 2006)

There is lots of more to come from Anto! new tracks and remixes are on their way!!

It’s kind of like the new Daft Punk we’ve been hearing (Alive) mixed with the sounds of MSTRKRFT with a touch of Justice style note-optimism. Thoughts everyone?

Mind Dimension Youth Attack Remix

POSTED BY Sam ON December 14th IN Essentials, On The Radar, Tracks.

Believe it or not, I actually prefer this remix to the original, which is odd, because a lot of the time I prefer the originals to remixes, same applies with cinema, I always prefer the first films but on occasion, the sequels are better (Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back, although that’s not really a sequel). And so here I have; Tiga - Mind Dimension (Youth Attack! Remix).

NT89 Interview

POSTED BY Sam ON December 13th IN On The Radar, Tracks.

Why did you choose the name NT89 (1989 I presume?)
I chose this name because it’s the web-alias that I’ve used all my life, it contains my initials: Nima Tahmasebi and my year of birth, 1989. You prenounce NT89: Nineteen Eighty Nine, it’s important for me because I feel to be one of the latest sons of the 80s :D

When did you first start producing and why?
I think it was around 2004, I grew up listening to Daft Punk and I had always loved electronic music, and I had ideas that I wanted to represent through an audio wave :)

Who inspires your music?
The crowds, the clubs, artist-wise; I’d say my Italian buddies like Congorock, Cécile, and of course The Bloody Beetroots.

Can you describe your studio? What sort of equipment do you use or are you all digital?
I’ve got a monster laptop, Intel t9 with 6gb RAM and 6mb of cache, it’s lead to an audio interface (M-Audio Ultra), as hardware I use an Evolution UC-33, Tweakalizer FX for synths, an Akai MPD32 for drums and hits, and finally an Alesis Photon x25 which I use always for my synth sounds. Software, I use tons, Ableton Live, Cubase, Pro Tools, etc.

If you had a fire in your studio, what 1 piece of equipment would you save?
Laptop :D

What are your top 5 favorite tunes at the moment?
1. The Bloody Beetroots - Cornelius
2. Shadow Dancer - Soap
3. Brodinski - Oblivion
4. Blatta & Inesha & Congorock - People
5.
Duke Dumont - Duke’s Fanfare

Top 5 artists?
1. Congorock
2. Shadow Dancer
3. His Majesty Andre
4. Duke Dumont
5. Brodinski

Anything you want to say to OneMoreDisco Readers?

New Aerotronic Remixes

POSTED BY Sam ON December 12th IN Essentials, Tracks.

So Aerotronic have 2 new remixes in the bag, got them here for you all to download. We kick off with Proxy’s Raven, Aerotronic’s Remix adds a nice even more evil twist to the original, and with Aerotronic’s signature buildup synth, their drop doesn’t fail to impress!

Proxy - Raven (Aerotronic Remix)

(This is an unofficial remix of Raven by Proxy, remixed by Aerotronic, it is not the original mix)

Second is Aertronic’s remix of Altern8 - Frequency, you may not recognize this track by name but if you have seen any footage of Soulwax playing live, you will certainly recognize the chorus!

A Cross The Universe

POSTED BY Sam ON December 7th IN Essentials, News.

So I got an email through from Ed Banger Promo with a link to a section of Justice’s new film/documentary/tour video named A Cross The Universe, it’s Phantom Pt. 2 - nothing terribly new but in the bottom left of the page there is an audio player where you can listen to all of the live cd (doesn’t let you download it but still, listen), so for those who can’t afford A Cross The Universe, go to the link below and hopefully that’ll be enough until you afford it, it is a very good film, well worth the buy although I do particularly prefer Soulwax’s Part of the Weekend Never Dies.
