So we managed to get an interview with DSL - so we presented 9 questions, I have tried my best to translate the answer’s in english :)
What does DSL stand for?
It stands for Digital, Sound and Loudness

What’s your favorite cheese?
ROCK FORT (It’s a french joke, combining the cheese “roquefort” (fort means loud in french) and “rock”, ultimately “rock loud”)

When did you start producing music?
We have been producing sound for ages! Mid 90’s, we decided to buy real instruments and equipment to record our own stuff. Then we really started working on our sound, producing with our inspirations in mind.

What’s been your favorite venue to play at, and why?
We are lucky because we played in several really nice places, the most important thing is the audiance, the way they welcome you. You can be doing a show in front of 50 people with a bad soundsystem, but if the atmosphere is there, it can be the best show of your life!

What’s been your bigest musical achievment to date?

The track “Find me in the world” we did a long time ago, we are really proud of, it will be on Ed Rec 3, out May 19th.

Do you have any collaberations in mind for the future?
We would love to work with a lot of artists! For the LP, we have some ideas, and the Ed Banger family will be involved in the tracklisting, they will remix some tracks. It is always difficult to give names because it needs to be a project we work together on, the impulsion needs to be from both sides. We can reveal that DJ Mehdi, Busy P or DJTronic will be on the project. We have tons of propositions from different sides of the music scene, it’s really open minded, which is great, there is no boundaries!

Who is your favorite member of Ed Banger?
We have them all!! Haha, just kidding, all of them are really cool, but you need a winner, this will be amandine, because DSL is romantic! haha

When did you and Pedro first meet?
We were recording for a long time in a studio, up north of paris, and one day, Pedro came for one project he was working on. At this moment we had put out a 12″ in an independent way, but a common friend introduced us briefly. Few months later, we’ve met again and we’ve decided to work together. It was like 3 or 4 years ago until now, Busy P has always been there for us, listeneed to our stuff and given advice, he helps us on our career.

What made you choose “Invaders” for the title of your EP?
The track tells the story of hip hop guys, who come from space, to give the shit to the earth people! The characters name starts with D, D is for David Vincent (member of DSL), which is also a charector in a 70s show named “The Invaders”

More interviews to come soon.
