POSTED BY Sam ON March 28th IN one more disco.
Well I managed to pull an interview with Mehdi a few days ago, thought you all might enjoy it so here it is.
Click here to go to his MySpace.
When did you first start mixing?
I started mixing in 1990, I was 13 years old. Hip-hop of course.
When did you first start producing music?
I started making beats in 1990 as well, but “Producing” is a whole different business than making beats. It took me like 4 or 5 years to understand the difference.
Where do you do most of your producing?
At home. I don’t have a studio but I have equipment ready to use all around my house.
What artist’s inspire you?
Painters, movie-makers, writers but most of all, musicians from past and present, from Stevie Wonder and Sly Stone to Surkin and Chromeo. And So-Me.
If your studio was on fire, what equipment would you save?
My ghettoblaster - and it survived already 3 major fallouts.
What is your bigest musical achievment?
I learned how to play ‘LET IT BE’ on the guitar. (So-me taught me)
What artist do you think will be going big in 2008?
So-Me.
Hope you liked it, you will hear his new tracks on Ed Rec 3 I imagine.

DJ Mehdi is awesome, I met him Bordeaux, he’s well nice! I tip So-Me to be big in 2008 n’all, So-Me is a wicked DJ and so so good at designing! watch this space….
