One More Disco

Paris nightlife is unexpectedly alot different from London nightlife, in a good way.

Firstly, Social Club did not open it’s doors to eagar ravers until 00:00,  which to me is very late! Myself and JG arrived at around 23:45 to find a que of no more than around 30 people outside awaiting the entrance to open. Secondly, when I walked onto the dancefloor, people were already dancing. In my experience of London, people dont get up and dance for quite a way into the night. A refreshing change if you ask me.

Now, first up on the bill, in a DJ-booth lined with neon lights, was Compuphonic; I won’t lie, I had no idea who this guy was, but he knew exactly what he was doing and threw out some amazing tunes for us to dance to. Quite obviously though, I, aswell as a large proportion of the crowd, were all anxiously looking forward to The Proxy!

And then he was there, appearance wise looking alot different to what I expected, but who cares about that, we want to know about the performance. Well, he was only there to play a 1hour live set, so all tunes were his own magnificent creations, and he played them out magnificently aswell, playing my new personal favouite Raven (see video below) and ending the set with his latest release on Turbo Recordings, ‘Dance In The Dark’. A real crowd pleaser.

And lastly, we had a lovely 2 hours worth of a Brodinski DJ set to top off the night, and I’m sure everyone there will agree, it did top the night off very nicely. The man exudes stamina and carisma on stage and knows how to work the crowd, playing some dancefloor favourites aswell as some new tunes I am anticipating for release!

All in all, the night was one of the best I have ever experienced, and might I add the French know how to party. More nights out in Paris for me in the future I think! The night was free entry, but could have been charged 40€, and I would still have gone, amazing.
